Best christmas movies of all time

Over time, Christmas has become an emblem of various things to people and the movies play a vital role in it. We automatically feel like curling up in front of the Screen during the holiday season, with the fireplace roaring and the snow gently falling outside. There are various christmas movies come out every year.

We’ve compiled a list of our top Christmas movie selections, hope you love it.

Carol (2015) Drama

The gorgeous Patricia Highsmith adaption directed by Todd Haynes, set in the 1950s, stars Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara. The plot centres on two ladies who meet on opposite sides of a retail store in Manhattan: Carol (Cate Blanchett) and Therese (Rooney Mara). Huge emphasis is placed on gestures, appears and touches. Blanchett and Mara, who are both superb, encourage close examination of every move they make. A significant portion of the movie is a passionate dance. This is a nuanced, well crafted story, with moving pieces that are in silent, unobtrusive harmony, and that are tuned like an expensive watch. Overall we say it’s good drama movie to watch out for.

Miracle on 34th Street (1947) Drama

Based on a story by Valentine Davies, Miracle on 34th Street is a 1947 American Christmas comedy-drama film produced by 20th Century-Fox. Written and directed by George Seaton. The pinnacle of adorable Christmas afternoon flicks, this one stars Edmund Gwenn as Kris Kringle, who needs to convince everyone that he is, in actually, Santa Claus, especially a young girl (Natalie Wood) who doesn’t know the real meaning of the holiday.

Scrooged (1998) Comedy

One of the creepiest and most disturbing movies to come out in a long time is Scrooged. Even though it was plainly meant to be a comedy, the film mostly seems to be about pain and rage rather than humour. The ghosts of Christmas seem to be terribly missing from this entire play. Murray’s comic persona is notably detached from emotion, and his final passionate speech about the true spirit of Christmas is just as humiliating. Scrooged is not delicate material. Wild things for the light-hearted mind.

Home Alone (1990) Drama

Shifts back to the horrific experience of travelling. A young Kevin (Culkin) is going to spend Christmas in Paris with his parents and several relatives. His wish is fulfilled when his parents inadvertently leave him behind. Hughes deftly combines parts of youthful curiosity with precocious self-awareness: the boy binges on junk food and TV because he genuinely thinks his fantasy has come true, but when reality sets in.

Elf (2003) Comedy

This comedy about a guileless huge elf looking for his dad in New York City is brilliantly complemented by Will Ferrell’s overgrown-child character but movie ‘s focus is not only funny. Brought up as an obese elf, Bunny journeys from the North Pole to New York City to reunite with his biological father, Walter Hobbs, who is in dire need of some holiday cheer and is unaware that he even exists.
